If Fabergé
had been an architect, Egerton House could well have been conceived
by him. Like the jewelled Easter eggs he designed for the Csar,
this hotel springs all sorts of delightful surprises. Indeed,
as you go from room to room, you feel as if you are inside an
ingenious puzzle; not one is the same size or shape and the
windows all tell a different story. The decor has the indelible
signature of a very gifted designer with a terrific eye for
colour, texture and detail. The paintings throughout the house
are not just original they are works of art that demand attention.
You could say the same about the magnificent marble bathrooms!
If your drawing room is as cosy and elegant as the one here
then you live in considerable splendour. Like home, the drinks
cupboard is discreet and masquerades as an honour bar. By the
way, Fabergé eggs are available at Harrods just a five-minute
stroll away and the shops of Sloane Street a few steps beyond.
The Egerton House London Hotel has been decorated with traditional
fabrics, fine antique furniture, porcelain and oil paintings
to give their guests the experience of staying in a home from
home. Some of the bedrooms have four-poster beds and the majority
overlook the gardens. All bedrooms are fully airconditioned
and all have well fitted marble bathrooms, direct dial telephones
with dataport and voicemail. The cosy drawing room with its
honesty bar, give the impression of being in a luxurious private
home. Hotel services are extensive and include: butler, valet,
housekeeping, secretarial, airline reservations and theatre
book facilities. |
